Partner Joseph L. Amaral focuses his practice on health care issues. As general counsel for Memorial Hospital of South Bend, Memorial Health System, and Memorial Medical Group, he addresses the legal concerns of Michiana’s largest health-care provider. In addition to handling many of the transactional needs of the regional health care center, Amaral manages the litigation portfolio and was the architect of the hospital’s insurance and litigation management policy. In addition to representing the Memorial entities, Mr. Amaral has handled substantial litigation involving the interests of Northern Indiana physicians, especially in the area of covenants not to compete.
