R. William Jonas
R. William (Bill) Jonas, Jr., has been practicing law in northern Indiana since 1981. He is admitted to practice in all the courts of Indiana, U.S. District Courts for Northern and Southern Indiana, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. His practice focuses on bankruptcy and insolvency, estate planning and administration, commercial and other civil litigation, and professional discipline.
Mr. Jonas is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association and the St. Joseph County Bar Association. Mr. Jonas has served as a director and officer of Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, a director of the Indiana Bar Foundation, and director and officer of the Indiana State Bar Association. In October, 2008, Mr. Jonas begins service as President of the ISBA, the statewide lawyers association with more than 12,500 members. Mr. Jonas has been a frequent speaker for Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum on bankruptcy-related topics. He has served on the boards of Rural Services of Indiana, Specialized Transportation Service, Indiana University School of Journalism Alumni Association, and Indiana University (Bloomington) School of Law Alumni Association. He is as a class agent for the Indiana University (Bloomington) School of Law Class of 1981.
He and his wife Kathleen have three children: Amy, Ben and John. When not working or involved in family or bar association activities, Mr. Jonas enjoys travel, playing golf, and reading.
